CDE Public Forum (Turner) Debate Camp

WHEN?
July 15 to July 31, 2009. Registration at 10:30 a.m., classes start at 1 p.m.

COST?
$1085.00 covers food. room, tuition, free materials. (Commuters $585.00, partners $985.00, coaches and teachers $640.00.

WHERE?
At the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. (All dorms and class rooms are air conditioned).

WHO CAN ATTEND?
The camp is open to all high school students.

HOW DO I APPLY?
Just fill out the application form on the last page and send it in with your application fee or enroll online at www.cdedebate.com

1. Camp class and practice focus rejects policy debate and L.D. role models. Classes use discussion
based modules to identify strategies, sources, tactics most likely to succeed with a lay judging pool.

2. Classes include a series of non-coaches public forums (news anchors, professors, politicians, service
organizations.) Forums seek to identify their insights and reactions on various topics and debate
approaches. For larger groups a Town Hall approach is utilized.

3. Every camp graduate gets a free monthly packet on each new topic e-mailed to him or her throughout
the next school year.

4. Free unlimited access to CDE Internet help boards & new topic discussions.

5. Partners receive the partner’s discount. If you come as a team the second member gets $100.00 off.
 

WHICH DIVISION FITS YOU?
There are 2 divisions: varsity and championship. Varsity is open to any student. Championship best fits you if you are a junior or senior, have qualified for either NFL Nationals or the Tournament of Champions, or are a CDE alumnus.
